Search help

The search facility on this website allows you to search this site using specific words and phrases or find information about a specific product through a drop-down menu. You can perform an 'Advanced search' by choosing the 'Advanced' link at the top of the page or by using the 'Advanced search' options at the top of a search results page. The 'Site advanced search' functionality allows you to refine your search. You can define how you search words or phrases and you can choose whether to search the entire site or just a specific section of the site.

The 'Product Quick Finder' directs you to a section on the site with information about a specific product. Simply choose the product you are interested in from the drop-down menu and you will be taken to the appropriate section in the site.

All 'Search results' are initially displayed showing 'All results' found. You can further refine how you view results by choosing to view the results for a specific section of the website only. Under the heading 'View results by section', is a table that organises results by section of the site while telling you how many results were found in each section. You can choose to view results for a specific section only by selecting the appropriate link from the table provided.

 

Features

Search:

To launch a search, type in one or more words. You can search for variants or derivatives (e.g. alternative spellings) of a word by using a star (*) at the end of the root.
 

Using:

When searching for several words, change the option to find the documents containing:

  • all my words - this will find documents containing all the terms entered.
  • my exact phrase - this will find documents containing the exact string of terms entered.
  • any of my words - this will find documents containing any one of the terms entered.

    Search in:

    this function lets you perform a search within an individual section of the site i.e. All section of the site, about us or products etc

     

    Product quick finder

    If you know the name of a product then you can use the product quick finder to take you directly to the home page for that product group. Simply select the product from one of the drop-down boxes and press Go.

     

    News centre search

    This search tool allows a specific search of the content in the news centre. The search can be refined by using specific keywords or phrases or selecting a specific date period. You can also opt to search by headlines only.

     

    Common search queries

    Certain common search phrases have a recommended status and will be placed at the top of your results. For instance, searching for soap, you will get the following recommended link:

        "For information on 'soap' visit NEODOL (Recommended)"

    You will see this recommended link on all searches that include the keyword soap.
